DESCRIPTION: A small group of actors will work with a native English speaker to create an English Language Theatre Production! Actors will contribute to the brainstorming process that will create the plot and characters, and from these ideas, Chad will write a script that the group will then rehearse and perform.
WHEN: We will meet every Saturday for three hours beginning on August 26th. The final performances will take place around December 2nd and 3rd (dates could be changed due to availability of the theatre). There will be NO MANDATORY REHEARSAL on November 4th, which is a state holiday. Rehearsals will usually begin around 3:00pm (times could be changed due to availability of the rehearsal space).
HOW MUCH: Each rehearsal costs 500 rub per actor per week. During weeks when actors are not required at a rehearsal, the actor pays no fee. During weeks an actor is only needed for half of the rehearsal, the fee will be 300p. Actors who miss rehearsals with little warning will still need to pay! The money that is collected each week is used to pay rental fees on our performance space, for theatre rental, and set and prop and costume purchases! So our budget gets smaller when you’re not there and you don’t pay!!
HOW TO JOIN:
1) Look VERY CAREFULLY at your schedule between August 26th and December 3rd. If you are unsure about your availability, if you know you’ll be out of town a lot, or if your job gives you an unpredictable schedule, please think very carefully about whether you’re comfortable joining our group. If you know you’ll miss one or two rehearsals, this isn’t necessarily a big problem, as long as we know about it in advance!!
2) If you’re confident you’ll be free, contact Chad or Valentina Tikhonova via Private Message to have your name placed on our list. **There are limited places in our group, and you will reserve a spot as soon as you send us (by bank transfer or with cash in person) a 1000p deposit. This deposit will cover the fees for the first two rehearsals.
3) If you are not one of the first 12 to pay a deposit, your name will be put on our ‘Alternate Actors’ list, and you will be one of the first contacted if any actors from the group drop out or are unable to join us.
4) If you are interested in joining but aren’t certain you can commit every Saturday for so many weeks, please let us know and we will consider you for any smaller roles the play may require, or even to help us with lights and sound for our final performances.
5) Actors may be replaced if they miss more than two rehearsals, or if they are more than 10 minutes late more than twice. Attendance and Punctuality have caused us major problems on recent shows, so we need to be especially careful to be present and be on time for every meeting! Rehearsals can be a very stressful process, and missing actors add a LOT of extra stress! We do understand that you are adults with real lives, so if something forces you miss a practice once or twice, we can be somewhat forgiving. But beyond that, we must do what is best for the show and make roles available to other actors without attendance problems.
